Corison Wines

Cathy Corison has been firmly standing her ground in her mission to make “The wine in my head that needed to get out.” There have been times when she’s gone against the grain in order to do what is best for the grapes (and ultimately, for the wines), but her low-volume, high-fidelity wines stand out as an embodiment of KOT Selections’ values.

Cathy Corison is a Californian born-and-bred. Graduating from UC Davis with a Master’s in Enology, Corison started at Freemark Abbey as an intern in 1978 and steadily worked her way up through the ranks to become the winemaker. There then followed a stint as top dog at Chappellet Winery from 1983.

Towards the end of the 1980s, Corison started buying Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from neighbouring growers, and tinkering with them in her own time. In 1995, she acquired her own plot of land, Kronos Vineyard. She was the first to see the site’s potential for vines, and has been blazing trails ever since.

Don’t take our word for it; she must be doing something right when Jancis Robinson called Cathy her heroine.
